The utility of sulfamic acid for the preparation of diverse steroid sulfates has been investigated. Sulfates of the following steroids were prepared and characterized: testosterone, choleseterol, pregnenolone, dehydroisoandrosterone, estrone, 2-methyoxyestrone, ethynylestradiol and ethynylesteradiol-3-methyl ether.
