The preparation of trimethyltin-sulfur compounds of the type Me3SnSC6H44-X, where X = F, Cl, Br, CH3, NH2, and NO2 is reported and the nature of the bonding between tin and sulfur is discussed on the basis of IR, UV, PMR, and Raman data. The mass spectrum of each compound is tabulated.
