The gas chromatographic behavior of three O-n-alkyltyrosines, four Nt-n-alkyllysines and three Nt, Nt-di-n-alkyllysines was studied as their N-trifluoroacetyl n-bytyl ester (BTFA) derivatives on columns of OV-17 and Dexsil 300 GC. The retention indices and some other retention parameters are discussed in relation to the chemical structures of the amino acids. Mass fragmentation patterns of the BTFA derivativs of these amino obtained by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with electron impact ionizaton are also described.
