Indium phosphide nanocrystals have been synthesized by the direct reaction of SODIUM PHOSPHIDE (cas 12058-85-4) and indium trichloride pre-combined with n-trioctylphosphine in 4-ethylpyridine as a suitable solvent for terminating the particles growth. The formation of InP particles with the size of c.a. 3–7 nm was evidenced by the analysis of powder X-ray diffraction, solution UV–vis spectra and transmission electron microscopy.
