The kinetics of the reaction [AuCl4]− + en → (where en is ethylenediamine), have been studied in acid medium at different temperature and pH values and the following reaction scheme is suggestd: Also included are some tentative results suggesting At 25°C values of k1=4.7 × 102M−1sec−1, k2=1.72 × 101M−1sec−1, k3=(1.2 ± .7) × 10−4sec−1 were obtained The activitation parameters were found to be: ΔH1*=15.6 kcal mole−1, ΔH2*=in 13.8 kcal mole−1, ΔH1*=+6.0 e.u., ΔS2*=−7.0 e.u.
