Irradition of benzene solutions of zirconocene dichloride and zirconocene- d10 dichloride with 313 nm light leads to the formation of zirconocene-d5 dichloride with a quantum yield of 0.021 mol/Ei. The equilibrium constant is 2.8 Zirconocene dichloride exchanges a cyclopentadienyl ligand photolytically with bis(methylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride with the constant equal to 2.3.
