Synthesis of some polymerisable 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives for use as fluorescent brighteners

Four unsaturated 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives, which are fluorescent brightening agents, were synthesised. Their properties, Cielab colour coordinates, bleaching effect on polyamide fabrics and their ability to copolymerise with styrene have been determined.
