Zeolite Y has been dealuminated with ammonium hexafluorosilicate. The influence of the reaction conditions — concentration of reactants, number of treatments, and time and temperature of reaction on the final properties of the products has been studied. The materials thus obtained have been characterized using X-ray diffraction and i.r. spectroscopy (OH stretching vibrations and pyridine adsorption).
