Decarboxylated ascorbigens in the heartwood of Chamaecyparis pisifera

In addition to sawaranin previously reported, five new decarboxylated ascorbigens, 4-epi-sawaranin and sawaranospirolides A–D, have been isolated from the heartwood of Chamaecyparis pisifera, and their structures determined by spectral and chemical methods. A nor-lignan, agatharesinol, was also identified.
