BackgroundNiemann–Pick disease type C (NPC) is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder with progressive neuronal degeneration. Because conventional diagnostic methods are complicated and invasive, biomarker tests have drawn attention. We aimed to evaluate three urinary conjugated cholesterol metabolites as diagnostic biomarkers for NPC.
