Tetraphosphorous decasulfide reacted with phenoxyethanol, α and β-naphthol, ortho-toluidine, ortho-aminophenol and ortho-phenylenediamine to give aryl esters or amides of dithiophosphoric acids. These were used as ligands in the synthesis of some nickel(II) and cobalt(II and III) complexes. With para-toluidine only the amide (p-CH3C6H4NH)3PS was isolated.
