Bis(2-hydroxy-3-t-butyl-5-methylphenyl) sulphide, sulphoxide and sulphone as antioxidants for polypropylene

The title compounds were examined as antioxidants for polypropylene in oven-ageing studies. It was shown that the activity was in the order sulphoxide > sulphide > sulphone. This activity is justified by the mechanisms that have been proposed for stabilisation by phenolic sulphur compounds.
