One new Metal-Organic Framework, [Zr6O4(OH)8(H2O)4(L)4]n (1, H4L = 5′,5″″-sulfonylbis(2′-amino-[1,1′:3′,1″-terphenyl]-4,4″-dicarboxylic acid)), had been successfully constructed, which had been structurally characterized. It was revealed that 8-connected Zr6 cluster had been fabricated, along with the 4-connected tetra-carboxyl ligand. The decorated amino and SULFOXIDE (cas 120-62-7) groups had been simultaneously decorated into the final framework. Most importantly, each functional group tends to be formalized in one channel, which facilitates the formation of two different channels. The title MOF is the first example that possesses amino and sulfoxide in one framework. The highly connected mode between Zr6 cluster and tetra-carboxyl ligand must be responsible for the reservation of stable porous structure after the activation treatment.
