The need to determine the appropriate injection volume of a Stannous pyrophosphate (cas 15578-26-4) preparation necessary to obtain good in vivo red blood cell labelling with subsequently injected 99mTc-pertechnetate is demonstrated. The test described can be applied with equipment available in any nuclear medicine laboratory and requires approximately 30–45 min to carry out.
