Quinidine (Chemical s Service Registry Number 56-54-2) is a class I antiarrhythmic agent, which primarily works by blocking the fast inward sodium current. It is used to suppress abnormal rhythms of the heart such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation.
