Arsenic, antimony, and bismuth are usually found in association with minerals of some other metals. These materials are toxic, and under restricted conditions they are used for medical purposes. Pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy processes of all three elements and their compounds are discussed. The waste products of extraction are health and environment hazards. New techniques are developed to protect the environment, and increase the recovery and efficiency of production.
