A liquid membrane containing N503, N,N-di(1-methylheptyl) acetamide, as a mobile carrier, is proposed for the high efficient removal of phenol from waste water. Effects of different factors on phenol removal are investigated. Under the optimum operation condition obtained very satisfactory results have been achieved for the treatment of four kinds of high concentration industrial phenolic waste water.
