'Valmid' is a new short acting nonbarbiturate, namely, ethinylcydohexyl car- bamic acid ester. The hypnotic dose, acute toxicity, and duration of action have been observed in mice, rats, and dogs. The action of this compound has been observed in dogs, recording the blood pressure and respiration. The cause of death was found to be respiratory failure. The antidote was found to be picrotoxin or artificial respiration. The subacute toxicity was also determined orally in rats and dogs.
