Cyclic allylic acetates undergo smooth allylation and alkynylation with allyltrimethylsilane and alkynyl silanes in the presence of molecular iodine under mild conditions to afford the corresponding allylated and alkynylated cyclohexene derivatives in good yields with high selectivity.
