Chlorprothixene-DIPICRYLAMINE (cas 131-73-7) membrane electrodes

Ion-selective membrane electrodes for determination chlorprothixene hydrochloride are described. The membrane of the electrodes consist of chlorprothixene-dipicrylaminate ion-pair complex as exchanger in nitrobenzene and in poly (vinyl chloride) matrix with 2-nitrophenyloctyl ether as plasticizer. The electrodes exhibit near Nernstian response in the range of 10 - 2 -5.0 10 - 5 mole dm - 3 with cationic slope of 53.0 mV/concentration electrode. The electrodes have working pH range 2.05-4.6. The results obtained for quantitation of 3.0-15.0 mg of chlorprothixene hydrochloride in substance and tablets (0.05 g) show an average recovery 100.6% and 100.2% respectively.
