CODEN: SENGA5. ISSN: 0037-9875. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal
CA Section: 43 (Cellulose, Lignin, Paper, and Other Wood Products)
The membrane potentials and permeabilities of charged cellulosic
membranes in tetraalkylammonium chloride solns. were detd. at 25°.
The membranes used were carboxyethyl cellulose (I) [9004-42-6],
sulfoethyl cellulose (II) [9032-46-6], and cellulose phosphate (III)
[9015-14-9]. The ammonium compds. used were Me4NCl [75-57-0],
Et4NCl [56-34-8], and Bu4NCl [1112-67-0]. The membrane potential
and permeability as a function of the salt concn. were interpreted by
means of the TMS theory. The diffusion coeffs. of ions in membranes
are dependent on Stokes radius of the cations. As the radius
increases, the diffusion coeff. of the cations decreases and that of the
anion increases. The above correlations are expressed by the same
curve for the case of alk. metal salts. 1112-67-0 and 56-34-8 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. The effective fixed charge concn.
in the membranes increases with increase in Stokes radius of the
cations. An anomalous value of the effective fixed charge concn. was
obtained when calcd. for the systems of II and III membrane - Bu4NCl.
The obstruction effect by the large ions is proposed in the interpretation
of the findings using the TMS theory. The effectivity and the diffusion
coeff. of ions in the membranes increase in a sequence I

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) The title compns. having excellent mech. strength and heat resistance comprise (1) terephthalic acid type polyester resin 100, (2) halogenated [in 3, 3' ,5, and(or)5'-positions] bisphenol A epoxy phenoxy resin (halogenation degree 310 wt.%), (3) inorg. flame retardant 0. 26062-94-2 and 64935-98-4 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here.1-20, and (4) reinforcing filler 0-150 parts. Thus, tetrabromobisphenol A diglycidyl ether 740, tetrabromobisphenol A 475, and Me4NCl [75-57-0] 10% aq. soln. 0.6 part were mixed to give a product, 1000 parts of which were mixed with 1.0 part Me4NCl to give a brominated phenoxy epoxy resin (I) [68928-70-1]. Then poly(butylene terephthalate) [24968-12-5] 100, I 15, Sb2O3 5, and Irganox 1010 0.2 part were mixed to give pellets, which were injection molded to give a test specimen showing excellent noncombustibility, thermal stability, and no bleed of flame retardant. .
