Flavonoids
Flavonoids are a class of naturally occurring compounds with a 2-phenylchromone structure. They have a ketone carbonyl group in their molecule, and the oxygen atom in the first position is alkaline and can form salts with strong acids. Their hydroxyl derivatives are mostly yellow, so they are also called flavins or flavonoids. Flavonoids are usually synthesized into glycosides by glycosylation in plant bodies, with a small portion present in free form (glycosides).
