 Synthetic Method of Amsacrine
  • Synthetic Method of Amsacrine
  • Amsacrine (CAS NO.: ), with other name of ethanesulfon-m-anisidide, 4'-(9-acridinylamino)-, could be produced through many synthetic methods.

Following is one of the synthesis routes: 4-Nitro-m-anisidine (I) could react with methanesulfonyl chloride in pyridine to produce 4-nitromethanesulfony-m-anisidine (II), and then the yielding product is reduced with Fe and aqueous HCl affording 4-aminomethanesulfony-m-anisidine (III). At last, this compound is condensed with 9-chloroacridine (IV).
