piconol (CAS NO.: ), with its systematic name of 2-Pyridylmethyl 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionate, could be produced through many synthetic methods.
Following are two of the synthesis routes:
1). 2-(P-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid sodium salt (I) could react with 2-pyridylmethyl chloride (II) in the presence of refluxing benzene to produce .
2). 2-(P-isobutylphenyl)propionyl chloride (III) could react with 2-pyridylmethanol (IV) in the presence of triethylamine in THF to produce Ibuprofen piconol.
