 Production Method of Eperisone hydrochloride
  • Production Method of Eperisone hydrochloride
  • hydrochloride (CAS NO.: ), with other name of 1-Propanone, 1-(4-ethylphenyl)-2-methyl-3-(1-piperidinyl)-, hydrochloride, could be produced through many synthetic methods.

Following is one of the synthesis routes:

    Production Method of Eperisone hydrochloride

    1) 4-Ethylpropiophenone (I), formaldehyde (II) could react with piperidine (III) in refluxing isopropanol to produce Eperisone hydrochloride.
    2) 4-Ethyl-alpha-methyl-beta-chloropropiophenone (IV) could react with (III) in refluxing ethanol to produce Eperisone hydrochloride.
    3) By cyclization of 4-ethyl-alpha-methyl-beta-amino-propiophenone (V) with 1,5-dibromopentane (VI) in hot ethanol.
    4) By a Friedel-Krafts reaction of ethylbenzene (VII) with 3-piperidinoisobutyryl chloride (VIII) by means of AlCl3 at reflux temperature.
    5) 4-Ethyl-alpha-methylenepropiophenone (IX) is condensed with (III) in the presence of ethanol to produce the final product of Eperisone hydrochloride.
