- Pregnant Women Should Pay Attention to Diet
-
The nutrition of pregnant women is closely related with the nutrition and development of the unborn babies. If the pregnant women lack of nutrition, it is likely to cause miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth and birth defects. As the same time, it will also affect the growth and development of the fetuses. As a result, in order to improve the physical quality of newborns, women should pay great attention to nutrition.
During the growth and development process, the nutrients needed by the fetuses have to be provided by the mothers' body. Therefore, they need more protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and calcium, iron, phosphorus, iodine, zinc, copper and other nutrients than usual. Especially, an adequate supply of protein and energy is directly related with the growth, composition and differentiation of the brain cells, as well as the future intelligence of the fetuses. What's more, during the early pregnancy, women often suffer from nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and other reactions, which greatly affects the nutritional intake, so they should pay more attention to this.
The nutrition for pregnant women should be balanced. That is to say, they should take in fish, meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits and other foods appropriately. Because different kinds of foods contain different nutrients, so as long as they are not picky eaters, they can avoid excessive intake or shortage of certain substances. Specifically, the ideal structure of the daily diet for pregnant women is as follows: 1 kg of staple food; 1 kg of green leafy vegetables; 0.5 kg of other vegetables; 1 egg; 0.1 kg of fish, meat or animal liver; 0.1 kg of soy products; and some soybean milk and milk. In such a case, the necessary proteins, carbohydrates, inorganic salt, vitamins, minerals and trace elements and other nutrients for pregnant women can be guaranteed.
Because pregnant women and fetuses have physiological changes in different stages, so the nutritional requirements for them are also slightly different. During the first three months of pregnancy, as the growth of fetuses is very slow, so the nutritional need at this time is almost the same as usual. Then during the fourth to seventh months of pregnancy, the appetite for the pregnant women is greatly increased, and the fetal growth also becomes faster, so they should eat much more foods besides the three meals every day. And during the last three months of pregnancy, as the uterus has reached the upper abdomen of the pregnant women, so they often feel stomach discomfort. In such a case, they should reduce the intake of foods. What's more, they should pay attention not to take in too much sugar, fat, caffeine, alcohol, and so on. Otherwise, it may bring serious consequence to the fetuses.
