  • Five Diet Taboos for Patients with a Fever
  • Fever is a common disease. Almost everyone has experienced the painful feeling caused by a fever. When people suffer from a fever, the resistance of the body is very weak and a large number of energy will be consumed. As a result, it is necessary to supplement adequate nutrition to the body. However, patients who suffer from a fever should pay attention to five diet taboos.

    1. Do not drink too much tea:
Drinking strong tea will make the brain stay at the exciting state, which will speed up the pulse and increase the blood pressure, thereby increasing the body temperature of the patients and make them irritable. At the same time, tea will affect the decomposition and absorption of medicines, and reduce the effect of these medicines.

    2. Do not drink too much cold drink:
If the fever is caused by infectious diseases such as bacillary dysentery, the function of the gastrointestinal tract will decline. As a result, drinking too much cold drink will make the disease much worse, even aggravate the condition of the disease and threaten human life.

    3. Do not eat too much honey:
If you suffer from a fever, you should choose the food which can clear away the excessive heat in the body. It is improper to supplement too much nutritious food. Honey is a kind of tonic which can nourish the spleen and kidney. If you eat too much honey when suffering from a fever, it not only will add extra heat to the body, but also may easily lead to other diseases.

    4. Do not eat too much spicy food:
When people suffer from a fever, the body temperature will increase and the metabolism of the body will become very active. In such a case, if you eat ginger, garlic, hot pepper and other spicy food inappropriately, it will produce a lot of heat in the body and aggravate the disease. As a result, it is not helpful for the recovery of the patients with a fever.

    5. Do not eat too many eggs:
It is true that egg contains a variety of nutrients (such as lecithin), which are very beneficial to human body. However, it is inappropriate to eat too many eggs during a fever, because after the egg protein breaks down in human body, it will generate some extra heat, which can increase the heat in the body and aggravate the symptom of fever.
