  • Scallion is a kind of common flavor for people to eat in daily life. However, many people do not know well about scallion at all. They just regard it as a kind of additive food. In fact, the nutritional value of scallion is rather high. 

    Scallion can be divided into two parts, namely, scallion stalk and scallion leaf. The former one contains abundant protein, dietary fibers and mineral substances like magnesium and iron. In addition, the sulfocompound contained in scallion can effectively decrease the cholesterol and blood pressure. According to the research, people with obesity can decrease the risks of getting hypercholesterolemia by increasing the intake of scallion in daily life. Diallyl sulfide contained in scallion can stimulate the secretion of gastric juice, strengthen the appetite and resist the fatigue for the human body.

    Some people do not like eat scallion because of the special taste caused by the volatile oil and capsaicin. In fact, the taste can remove the peculiar taste from the dish and kill the bacteria effectively. The volatile capsaicin can even help people prevent cold by stimulating the secretion of relevant gland through sweat gland, the respiratory tract and the urinary system.

    Two kinds of dish made of scallion will be introduced for people. One is scrambled eggs with scallion, and the other is fried beef with scallions. For the former one, people should prepare 200 grams of scallion, 150 grams of eggs, 3 grams of salt and 15 grams of peanut oil. After cutting scallion into powder, people can mix the powder, eggs and salt together in a bowl. When the peanut oil is heated moderately, people can pour the mixture into the pan to fry. For the latter one, people should prepare 150 grams of beef, 2 scallions, 3 grams of salt, 15 grams of peanut oil, cooking wine and ginger. It is necessary for people to first pickle the pieces of beef in the cooking wine, ginger powder and salt for 20 minutes and then erase the water. People can put beef in the oil for a moment and hold out for later use. After people fry the scallion to release the sweet taste, the beef can be poured into the pan to be fried with scallion.

    In short, people should increase the intake of scallion in daily life, as the nutrients contained in scallion like vitamin A can effectively kill the bacteria and resist fatigue for people.
