  • Snacks are the favorite food for the children. Most parents would control their children to eat less snacks. But do they really know the dangers on their children caused by so many different kinds of snacks? In the following section, we will introduce the major harms of some snacks in detail. 

    1. Popcorn:
    Popcorn contains a high content of lead, which is likely to cause growth retardation of the children, and decrease their resistance against diseases.

    2. Candy:
    When the candy is left in the children's tooth and has chemical reaction with the oral bacteria, it will quickly transform into acidic materials. What’s more, candy generally contains a small amount of organic acids. These acidic substances will loose the tissue of tooth, cause decalcification and even may lead to dental caries when it is serious.

    3. Canned food:
    During the production process of canned food, a variety of additives such as colors, flavors, sweeteners, and preservatives should be added in the food. Because the development of children is not mature enough, and the detoxification function of their livers has not been fully developed, so these additives will cause great impact on children's health.

    4. Cola:
    Cola contains a certain amount of caffeine, which has a strong exciting effect on the central nervous system, and may cause potential hazards on the body. As a result, children should not drink too much cola.

    5. Bubble gum:
    Bubble gum contains plasticizers and many other additives. If children chew the bubble gum in the mouth for a long time, it will cause adverse effect on the health of children loose the tissue of tooth, cause decalcification and even may lead to dental caries when it is serious.

    6. Jelly:
    The main ingredient of jelly is sodium alginate. If children eat too much jelly, it not only will affect the digestion and absorption of protein and fat, but also will reduce the absorption of iron and zinc by the body. As a result, it is not beneficial for the growth and development of children.

    7. Colored food:
    Some food coloring is synthesized artificially by chemical methods. This substance will interfere with the normal metabolism and normal function of many enzymes in the body. If it is accumulated in the body for a long time, it can lead to chronic poisoning. In addition, if children eat too much colored food, it may affect the nervous system, and lead to ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) on the children.
