  • Yogurt is a kind of healthy dairy products which has become a popular drink in our daily life. Yogurt has many benefits such as supplementing calcium and regulating digestion. But if you enter into these errors of drinking yogurt, not only it can not achieve the health care effect that you want, but also may cause harms to your health.

    The first error is: yogurt is equal to yogurt drink.
    Nowadays, not only there are varieties of yogurt, yogurt drinks are also emerging in endlessly. Yogurt is made of high-quality milk which has been fermented by the lactic acid bacteria. While yogurt drink is just one kind of drinks. It is not milk or yogurt. These two have very different nutritional ingredients. The nutrition of yogurt drink is only 1/3 of that of yogurt.

    The second error is: the more yogurt you drink, the healthier you are.
    You should not drink too much yogurt, otherwise it will easily lead to hyperacidity, which will affect the secretion of digestive enzymes, reduce your appetite, as well as destroy the electrolyte balance in the body. Especially for those who already suffer from hyperacidity, deficient cold of spleen and stomach, and abdominal distention, they should not drink too much yogurt. For the healthy people, it is appropriate to drink one or two glasses of yogurt(250 to 500 grams ) per day.

    The third error is: yogurt is more nutritious than milk.
    In fact, from the perspective of the nutritional value, there is not much difference between yogurt and milk. However, compared with milk, yogurt is easier to digest and absorb, which increases the availability of its nutrients. In addition, most of the sugar in milk is lactose. Some adults lack of lactase in the digestive juice, which will affect the digestion, absorption and utilization of lactose. As a result, these people will feel uncomfortable in stomach or suffer from diarrhea after drinking milk, and this symptom is known as "lactose intolerance". In such a case, they can take yogurt as a good substitution for milk.

    The fourth error is: yogurt can be collocated with any other food.
    It is really a good idea to collocate yogurt with some kinds of food. For example, for the breakfast, you can drink yogurt with bread or dessert, which not only gives you a good taste, but also provides rich nutrition. But never drink it with some high-fat and processed meat products such as sausage and bacon. Because the processed meat products contain nitrite acid, which will interact with the amine in the yogurt and form a kind of carcinogen called as nitrosamine.

    Besides the points we have mentioned above, there are also some other errors of drinking yogurt, such as yogurt can satisfy one's hunger; yogurt is good for both children and adults, and so on. We should pay special attention to these errors and learn how to drink yogurt properly.
