shown in Table 4. Further studies would be required to
undergo the reaction with retention of the stereochemistry.
In summary, we have demonstrated the preparation of
multiple substituted thiophene derivatives starting from
vinylidene bromide 1 using Suzuki–Miyaura coupling and
the palladium-catalyzed CH arylation strategies. The
method allowed to synthesize a variety of trisubstituted thio-
phene derivatives 7 in a combinatorial manner. These
molecules exhibited extended p-conjugation. Further stud-
ies on the properties of the thiophene derivative 6 leading
to find the utility of these molecules as advanced materials
are under way.
