Enantioselective syntheses of estrone methyl ether and its 7-alkylated derivative by the conjugate addition of alkenylcopper-phosphine complexes and discussions for the diastereoselectivity in the intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction of the o-quinodimethane derivative on the basis of MM2 transition structure models are presented.
