2-(2-Acetamido-2-deoxy-α,β-D-glucopyranosyl)ethylamine was prepared from 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-glucose in six steps including a Wittig reaction.Reaction of the amine with p-nitrophenyldiazonium tetrafluoroborate yielded 3-<2-(2-acetamido-2-deoxy-α,β-D-glucopyranosyl)ethyl>-1-p-nitrophenyltriazine, a potential irreversible inhibitor of human β-D-hexosaminidase A.
