Condensation of pyrazole-1-acetyl chloride 1 with acetophenone derivatives 2 in the presence of sodium methoxide in dry methanol led to the formation of various substituted β-diketones 3 (a-1). The structures of these newly synthesized compounds have been established by elemental analysis and spectral studies viz. IR, 1H NMR.
