Four new dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans possessing a spirobenzofuranoid skeleton, named propoxyl-, acetoxyl-, benzoyl oxokadsurane and isovaleroyl oxokadsuranol were isolated from the stems of Kadsura coccinea.Their chemical structures were elucidated by spectral and chemical analysis and their absolute configuration determined by a circular dichroic exciton chirality method.Propoxyl oxokadsuranol and benzoyl oxokadsuranol were obtained by hydroxylation of propoxyl oxokadsurane and benzoyl oxokadsurane.
