Synthesis, crystal and molecular structure of N-(p-chlorobenzylamide) of α-(1,1-ethylenedioxy)-ethyl-γ-hydroxybutyric acid

N-(p-chlorobenzylamide) derivative of α-(1,1-ethylenedioxy)-ethyl-γ-hydroxybutyric acid has been synthesized and the its crystal structure was solved.The dioxolane ring adopts a half-chair conformation, with asymmetry parameter ΔC₂(13) = 5.4 deg.Deformation of the amide group is caused mainly by twist around the C4-N bond.
