We describe the preparation of 2-(dialkylhydrazone)-thioacetophenones starting from their oxygenated analogs. These compounds are used as building blocks in heterocyclic chemistry and lead to 3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-thiazines or 2H-1,4-thiazines.
