The synthesis and thromboxane receptor antagonist activity of acidic derivatives of the novel ring system 3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrano<3,4-b>benzofuran are described as tricyclic analogues of the 4(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-dioxane thromboxane receptor antagonists.These compounds were 50-100 times less potent than the corresponding 1,3-dioxanes. pyrano<3,4-b>benzofuran / thromboxane receptor antagonist / 1,3-dioxane
