The rearrangement of 1-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl pyridinium salts under basic conditions is described. A method for the synthesis of (3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl-(3-pyridylalkyl)- ethers is elaborated.
