Asymmetric silylphosphite esters: Synthesis and reactivity of (rac-O,O-binaphtholato)POSiR3 (R3=Ph3, (t)BuMe2, Et3)

The new silylphosphite compounds, (rac-O,O-binaphtholato)POSiR₃ (R₃=Ph₃, (t)BuMe₂, Et₃) have been synthesised by the reactions of (rac-O,O-binaphtholato)PCI and R₃SiOH. The abilities of these silylphosphite esters to act as phosphonylating agents towards benzaldehyde have been investigated.
