Chloro(η⁵-cyclopentadienyl)tris(trimethylphosphine)molibdenum(III) tetrafluoroborate, , was obtained from the oxidation of by AgBF4, followed by crystallization from dichloromethane.Chloro(η⁵-pentamethyl-cyclopentadienyl)tris(trimethylphosphine)molybdenum(III) hexafluorophosphate, , was obtained from the reaction of with TlPF6 and PMe3 in dichloromethane.Both cations adopt a four-legged piano-stool arrangement.
