The title compound, , is formed by the reaction of with excess trifluoromethanesulfonic acid.The phosphine ligands are coordinated meridionally.The trifluoromethanesulfonate ligand is in a trans position with respect to the terminal nitrido N atom with an exceptionally long Re-O bond length of 2.403(5) Angstroem, which is the result of the strong structural trans influence of 'N^3-'.
