The preparation of bis-(pyrimidiniumolates) (8a-d, 10) is described. Semiempirical quantum chemical calculations (AM1, PM3) for 2a, 8a, 10, 11 and 12 and an ab initio treatment (6-31G°) of 2a are reported.
