Addition of 2-lithio-2-methylpropionitrile to three new complexes of cationic (η⁶-toluene-Mn) complexes where one or two CO ligands have been substituted by phosphine or phosphite, leads to the corresponding (η⁵-cyclohexadienyl) complexes with a very high regioselectivity in the case of the complex where two CO have been replaced by two phosphite ligands.
