The Rh(I)-catalysed hydroformylation / reductive amination of dienes in the presence of α,ω-diamines is applied to macroheterocyclic ring synthesis. Starting from (hetero)-diallylic systems 12- to 36-membered polyheterocycles are easily accessible.
