Saponification of (R)-3b (1.19 g; 2.49 mmol) in MeOH
(50 mL) and 1 M NaOH (25 mL) at 80°C for 4 h, in the
same experimental conditions of reaction and work-up
as for the synthesis of (R,S)-4, gave pure (R)-4 as a
white solid (1.09 g, 94%). Mp=270–290°C (decomp. at
