The stereochemistry of the 4-hydroxyisoleucine from fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) has ben reinvestigated.The absolute configuration was shown to be (2S,3R,4S) by a combination of chemical, spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic techniques.
