When 4-acetoxybut-2-yn-1-ol is treated with benzenesulphenyl chloride and triethylamine, followed by diethylamine, 3-(N,N-diethylamino)-2-phenylsulphinylbutadiene is produced, in a multistep process, in 90percent overall yield.
