equilibrium thermodynamic properties showed similar features
with those of coenzyme B12. However, on comparison of the
kinetic data for homolytic and heterolytic photolysis, the Co–C
bond in 2 is more photolabile than that of coenzyme B12. This

sugar moiety. Our analogue is expected to elucidate the effect of
an unsaturated bond in a sugar ring of cobalamin on the Co–C
bond properties and it may have potential applications for use as
a drug carrier.
