The 3-mercaptochromones 6a-c were synthesized by reduction of the disulfides 4a-c with 2-mercaptoethanol.The compounds 4a-c were prepared from the chromone-3-sulfinic acids 2a-c via the thiosulfonates 3a-c or directly with hydrobromic acid.
